Daniel Weimert is a public policy specialist, social entrepreneur, and speaker based in Berlin, Germany, with extensive expertise in disinformation, platform regulation, national security, AI, and emerging technologies.
With 7+ years of experience and a regional focus on the EU, Russia, the United States, and Germany, he has gained invaluable experience across the public and private sector, working with leading organizations worldwide. At Twitter in Dublin and Berlin, he drove political, diplomatic, and regulatory engagement with the German and Russian government and civil society on various digital and security policy issues. As Mercator Fellow, he gained experience in strategic communications, hybrid threats, and disinformation at NATO's Center of Excellence in Riga, the European Commission in Brussels, and the Atlantic Council in Washington, D.C. He has appeared as speaker on panels at events like the Munich Security Conference and UNESCO’s media literacy week. As co-founder and co-CEO of the German nonprofit ‘codetekt’, Mr. Weimert currently leads a fast-growing organization with a unique approach to combating disinformation and promoting media literacy.
Daniel Weimert earned his master’s in Political Communications from the Berlin University of the Arts and Sorbonne University in Paris, and his bachelor’s in Journalism and Communications from the Free University of Berlin and the University of California, San Diego.
